How To Change Name In Fallout 4

You get an option in one case you lot leave the vault, I don't think there is an option after that?

you lot might exist able to use the panel to do this.
showracemenu should requite you the option to proper noun your character later on setting the looks.(Might reset your level though)

Shownamemenu seems to be broken (considering it doesn't show anything, atleast for me.)

Edit: Opening console (using tilde ~ adjacent to the 1 on your U.s. keyboard) type in 'showSPECIALmenu' (I don't think caps are needed) and the peak part should be your name.
Information technology will pop upwards to say that you have -6+ points left and can't printing R to go on, but just press R anyways. Worked for me, at least.

Does it block/mess achivments?

Console commands that block achievements simply block them until you close and reopen the game.

Be careful, changing your name will not show save files in-game before the character had that new proper name. Don't worry, they're yet in your Documents>My Games>Fallout4>Saves. And thankfully they bear witness in the card, but not once you enter the game as the new named grapheme.

It'due south like renaming weapons and armor, you lot have to delete the old name or you'll only add onto the end with what you type.

Press 'T' in the load game menu.
That lets you observe the saves from the old name (information technology sorts saves by in-game name, making information technology easier to take more playthroughs at the aforementioned fourth dimension)

Delete it? How do you mean? I've backspaced my previous name and typed in my new name but after that I'm stuck.

press tab after you blazon your name, then R

full speculation, every bit I haavent tried it still, but tin the doctor in diamond urban center, if you get facial reconstruction surgery from him, alter your proper noun in the same menu? Every bit I said, I have all the same to try it even so so if information technology works delight tell me.
